With our #JustGo and #BeAGoodPerson values on our minds at the top of 2021, our team’s Office Manager, Taylor Brown, and Customer Success Manager, Alex Patterson, set out to start GoSite’s first Virtual Charity Dash. Read at all about it below!

Our Goal

The goal of this initiative was not only to encourage healthy habits for the team, but to do a little good for the community by donating to a local non-profit.

To accomplish this, Taylor and Alex motivated the team to log as many miles as possible—walking, jogging, or running—between January through February using an Apple Watch, FitBit, or other tracking apps.

The Prizes

To start, anyone who logged more than 50 miles received a Virtual Charity Dash T-shirt designed by the marketing team’s graphic designer, Tim Nguyen.

The person with the most cumulative miles won 20% of the proceeds (up to $200 max) as a Southwest gift card.

The remaining proceeds would go directly to our chosen charity.

The Charity

The charity chosen was It's Just Puppy Love Inc., a nonprofit supporting veterans and rescue dogs. This organization provides care packages to homeless veterans and connects them with the right resources to help them transition off the streets. They also pair shelter dogs that are at risk of being euthanized with transitioning veterans to be trained as service dogs.

The Results

We’re proud to announce that our team logged in a total of 1066 miles from the combined efforts of 27 team members! And 14 of them received the Virtual Charity Dash T-shirt.

The Winner

The team member with the most logged miles was GoSite’s University Recruiter, Kara Sherrard, with 106 miles! Runner-ups were Taylor Brown, Alex Patterson, and Senior Sales Development Rep., Brett Klein—all with over 70 miles logged in!

The team raised $590 for It's Just Puppy Love and Kara received a $150 Southwest gift card.

Huge shout out to all participants and thanks for being part of our first Virtual Charity Dash—here’s to many more!
